ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

Trinity Church Brentwood is a Christ-centred community shaped by the relational nature of God. We believe that the way God exists, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit reveals a model of deep connection, love, and unity.

This inspires us to build a church culture marked by grace, humility, and mutual care. Our desire is to grow together in faith, reflecting God’s character in how we live and relate to one another.

OUR VALUES

The Trinity of God (God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit) teaches us that God’s revelation of Himself is by nature, relational, a relational loving community.

Within God there is unity within diversity, God speaks, listens, serves, considers one another and is humble within the godhead.

This informs our values and how to have healthy relationships at Trinity church. We pattern ourselves after the Trinity.

  • At Trinity Church we draw our values from our namesake, the God we serv

    Community

Our society is in the grips of a loneliness epidemic, at least ¼ of the world’s population feels lonely; we cannot flourish on our own. Living connected with Christ and with one another is where we find shared purpose, meaning and support.

Genesis 2:18: “It is not good that man should be alone”

    Unity

In a world increasingly divided, we strive for unity. We may have our differences but we are united by our faith in Jesus.

Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

    Humility

Relentless obsession with image and self identity is the hallmark of our generation. Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less.

1 Peter 5:6-7: “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may raise you up at the right time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you”.

    Serving

Selfishness means we hurt others as we ruthlessly strive to satisfy our own needs.

We endeavour to live as the Bible teaches: “it’s better to give than receive” - which happens to be backed up by academic research too.

Galatians 5:13-14: “For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbour as yourself.”

    Love

The world is searching for love but finds fragile imitations based on inconsistent feelings. God is love - in Him perfect love is found and on this foundation we build our lives.

1 John 4:7-8: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

    Generosity

Western culture infers that to give anything is to be left with less, or to give everything is to be left with nothing.

Mathew 10:8: “Freely you have received, freely give”

WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be without error, the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

  • THE TRINITY

We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

    THE SAVIOUR

We believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His authoritative teaching, in His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through His blood shed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive His Church.

    THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification, and that the believer is also promised an enduement of power as the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this enduement, the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and service.

    HUMANITY

We believe in the inherent dignity and value of every person, as created in God's image and likeness, male and female, to be in fellowship with God and serve God's purposes in creation. Yet on account of the universal sinfulness of all people due to the Fall, humanity is subject to God's righteous wrath and condemnation.

    SALVATION

We believe in the necessity for salvation of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God's sight. This justification is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Christ, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit and a holy life.

    THE CHURCH

We believe in the spiritual unity and the priesthood of all believers in Christ and that these comprise the universal Church, the Body of Christ.

    THE MINISTRY

We believe in the ministries that Christ has set in His Church, namely, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers and in the present operation of the manifold Gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament.

    THE ORDINANCES

We believe in the baptism of believers by immersion in water in obedience to the command of Christ and in the commemoration of Christ's death by the observance of the Lord's Supper until His return.

    THE COMMISSION

We believe that the Gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the Gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

    THE COMING KING

We believe in the personal, physical and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign in power and glory.

    THE FUTURE STATE

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in the final judgement of the world, the eternal conscious bliss of the righteous and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.

  • WHAT IS SAFEGUARDING?

Safeguarding is the protection of children, young people and adults with care and support

needs (also known as vulnerable adults). It is about protecting a person’s health and well-being so that they can live in safety, free from harm, abuse and neglect.

At Trinity Church we recognise the importance of our ministry and our work with children, young people and vulnerable adults and our responsibility to protect those entrusted to our care.

Trinity Church is committed to creating a healthy church that is a safe space for all. We recognise the ways in which children and adults can be at risk of harm or abuse, so endeavour to create a culture to minimise opportunities for abuse to occur.

We seek to do this by providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children can reach their full potential. Similarly, within our church, we care for adults who may be in need

of protection, care and support due to a vulnerability, whether that is permanent or temporary.

We are aware too that within our church there are relationships of trust, which flourish best within a healthy church environment, where there is openness, transparency and accountability.

Our Safeguarding Policy addresses the specific needs of children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable or at risk. We encourage the reporting of any concerns related to safeguarding and we have clear procedures in place to deal with such concerns.

We are committed to providing pastoral care and support to individuals affected by abuse, working with relevant agencies as needed.

We firmly believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and all involved in the life of our church and activities have a role to play in keeping children, young people and adults safe.
